Screen printing on an advertising bottle

Screen printing is another type of personalization also widely used for advertising bottles. The intensity of its ink allows for bright colors and impeccable quality on personalized bottles. It is also possible to have special effect inks such as metallic, gold or silver inks.

In addition, screen printing can be done on different supports, and with large surfaces. There is therefore a wide choice on the personalization surface of your bottle. Finally, screen printing also stands out because it can print in large quantities.

However, screen printing is limited in solid colors. We can therefore only have one color per printing step which takes a lot of time, but also it is impossible to make color gradients. Also, the fact of being limited in solid colors also results in a limited choice of color options. Finally, the drying time for a screen print can be long. So there are many advantages and disadvantages to this type of printing.

Quantities of colors and nominal prints

Screen printing is done in large quantities, we can therefore offer printing in large series with screen printing.

In terms of colors, has said previously, this type of printing strongly limits the choice of colors. In addition, screen printing does not offer personalization by name. A company cannot therefore have a Personalised water bottle in the name of all its employees.

Basically, screen printing is done using a stencil. However, printing techniques have evolved and today there are machines specialized in screen printing. To make this type of printing, a machine equipped with a stencil sprays the color. Printing is done in 6 stages: color decomposition, screen exposure, color preparation, machine adjustment, printing, and finally drying. So it’s a rigorous process to do customization.

Material and marking area

Screen printing can be done on plastic or even glass. In particular, the Hendaye water carafe offers a screen print. Marking is possible over almost the entire area. Indeed, as we see in the photo, the personalization cannot go all the way around the glass bottle.

Indicative price and product example

The 100% recycled and recyclable reusable bottle therefore offers several types of printing, to have the result desired by the company.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pad printing is an ideal printing technique because it adapts to different surfaces, but also because several colors can be printed without drying. It is therefore a fast and efficient printing.

However, there are different stamps for each color so the printing process can seem very long. Also, the marking size is limited for pad printing, and the resistance to time is poor.

Reusable pad printing bottles can be printed in large or small quantities. For colors, it is only possible to have one color per pad, and name printing is not possible with pad printing.

The technique

Pad printing is another type of personalization for reusable bottles. In fact, personalization is done using a color stamp. It is practical to use pad printing when the bottle is difficult to personalize, especially with very rounded surfaces.

Pad printing is now used with a machine. A silicone stamp with ink copies the marking on an object. Thanks to the stamp, the image is taken intact and placed on the object. The format of the object is imprinted on the stamp, regardless of the curvature. Thus, pad printing is widely used for reusable bottles.

Engraving is one of the best-known personalization techniques. In fact, we can engrave many objects such as jewelry in order to put our initials. Engraving is therefore also possible for reusable bottles.

Thanks to engraving, the marking is done in detail, so it is an aesthetic custom notebooks. Additionally, the print is non-erasable because engraving requires altering the material in order to have personalization.
